定法

じょうほう【定法】

〔きまり〕 an order; an established [a fixed] rule; a convention; 〔公式〕 a formula 《pl. ～s, -lae》; the usual way.

●故人のことはよく言うのが定法だ. It is customary to say a good word for the departed.
